Utilities
(June 29, 2023, 10 PM) – Work has continued with the addition of 15 more crews. We have restored 105,000 of the 122,000 customer outages directly attributed to the storm, with 17,000 still to restore.
MLGW will add another 15 tree crews to our efforts Friday to help clear the way for remaining outages (total of 94 tree crews supporting electric 117 restoration crews).
You will see on our outage page that the number of outages is higher than that (presently 21,000). This is due to two factors: first, newly occurring "routine" outages due to struck poles and other non-storm related failures. Second, there are two circuits that were overloaded and tripped off line (4200 customers) as a result of heat and our efforts to reroute power to as many customers as possible (we double up the number of customers fed by those circuits, meaning much higher load on that line.)
