Water Treatment

The City of Millington Water Department works around the clock to provide top quality water to every tap.

The City operates multiple wells on a rotating basis that draw from the Fort Pillow Aquifer, two water treatment facilities, several underground storage tanks and one water tower.

Millington water is tested daily to insure the safety of our citizens. It complies with all federal and state regulations on water quality.

Is my drinking water safe?

Yes. Millington's water meets all of the EPA's healthy standards.

Water Services

Approximately 80% of the residents and businesses in Millington receive water from the City's water plants and system. The remainder are served by Memphis Light, Gas and Water Division.

To acquire service from Millington, visit City Hall, 7930 Nelson Road. We are open Monday through Thursday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM and Friday 8:00 AM to 3:30 PM, except for holidays. You may call 901-873-5701 for information on setting up new accounts during normal business hours.

Documents required to acquire service include: a government issued picture ID, your social security number and either be shown as the property owner on the Shelby County Register's web site or bring copy of lease or real estate closing documents. New customers are required to pay a $50.00 Connection Fee, which is non-refundable and non-transferable. New customers are required to provide a refundable $200.00 deposit by credit card or in cash.  

Service may be disconnected for nonpayment or for insufficient funds in a bank account or a refused debit or credit transaction. After such disconnection, all amounts due, including extra charges, shall be paid before service is restored. Service will only be restored on city business days. Service can be restored between 8 AM and 4 PM Monday through Thursday and until 3 PM on Friday.  

In the event of a broken water main or broken water line in a building, customer may call 901-275-5090 after hours, on weekends or on city holidays. Service reconnection cannot be processed from this number.
